PTU CET Application Form

The candidates are required to download the application form online from the official website www.ptu.ac.in. The downloaded application form should be filled up with his/he own handwriting and submitted along with the examination fee deposit slip through Speed Post / Registered Post or by hand at the following address on or before the last date and time -

The University has all the right to reject the application form if,

1. It is not in the prescribed Format.
   
   
2. If the candidate has not filled up the application form in his/her handwriting and the application is not supported by the requisite attested photocopies of the certificates or documents.
   
   
3. If it is a photocopy not the original copy of the application form.
   
   
4. If the application form is received after the prescribed date and time.
   

PTU CET Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for PTU CET, the candidates must pass the 10 2 examination with Maths, Physics and Chemistry as main subjects.

For B.Tech:

For the B.Tech. Courses the candidates must successfully complete 10 2 or other equivalent examinations with physics and Maths as the main subjects and Computer science, chemistry, biotechnology or Biology (any one) as an optional subject.

Candidates who have done a diploma in Engineering stream from Punjab State Board of Technical Education, Chandigarh or a Certificate/Diploma course from Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology, Longowal or such Examinations from any other recognized State Board of Technical Education are also eligible for PTUCET examination.

For B.Arch:

For the B.Arch courses the candidates should score a minimum of 50% marks in their (10 2 or other equivalent examination with Mathematics and English as the main subjects. Candidates who have done 3 years diploma in Architecture scoring a minimum of 50% marks are also eligible to apply for the B.Arch. courses.

For B. Pharm:

For the B. Pharm courses, the candidates should score a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in the 10 2 or other equivalent examination with chemistry and physics as the compulsory subjects and Computer Science, Bio-Technology or mathematics as the optional subjects.

Those who have done a diploma course in pharmacy from an institute affiliated to Punjab Technical Education and Industrial Training and have scored 50% marks are also eligible to apply for the course.

For Lateral Entry:

The lateral entry admission to various universities is governed by the respective eligibility criteria from any other University. Therefore, 15% seats in each college-Admission are based on the AIEEE merit; the students who are applying under this category need not to take CET.

However, they must fill up the CET admission application form of PTU and submit application before the due date. The AIEEE score is valid for candidates who are residents of states other than Punjab.

PTU CET Exam Pattern

The PTU CET exam pattern includes syllabus from the 12th standard. The candidates are required to prepare from subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology as per the requirements of the course programs.

It consists of five separate sessions and the first 3 sessions comprise of objective type questions in core subjects. There are descriptive type of questions that include short answer questions and some numerical examples. The 4th session is to check the candidate’s proficiency in their local language Punjabi. The Architectural aptitude is included in the last session and is only for the students applying for B. Arch course. This entrance examination is always in English language.
